Considering purchasing obscure silver coins

From http://www.realityzone.com/libertatems.html

Despite the fact that they are expensive, would there be any concern about trying to trade them? Seeing as they are not a well-known brand?

Also what is a way to test the purity of silver without having to melt it and without using calipers and a scale? I was thinking maybe I could test it in front of the person I was trading it to so they would know it was real silver.

Generic 1oz rounds.

There are some cool older rounds from different empires, if you are into history.

But honestly, as a history buff, unless something was VERY special, I wouldn't ever pay more than double spot for a coin. And never in bulk. I might do a 1-time purchase, for a "lucky" coin, but nothing more.
